Firstly, Merry Christmas, Seasons Greetings, Safe Travels etc etc and Happy Holidays!
Holidays........If it's possible (& let's just agree that for the sake of this blog, it is)...I simultaneously love and hate school holidays.
Some of My Reasons to Love are :
1. I am on holidays too ( a perk of working for Education QLD).
2. I don't have to run around like a crazy woman on weekday mornings trying to get everyone ready.
3. Please refer to reasons 1 and 2.
Some of My Reasons to Hate are:
1. It's difficult enough to keep everyone busy, happy and sane during a 2 week break, nevermind the 6 weeks holiday in Summer.
2. Trying to explain to 2 ASD kids, the fact that it's not the end of school forever, just for the year, and YES you do have to go back to school eventually.
3. The part where you have to get them in the car on the first day back. There are always tears, usually they are mine.
Of course, it's a little more detailed than what I've typed, but that's the general idea.
Please don't think for one second that I feel sorry for myself, or feel that the world or something like it owes me, and that I have a terrible life. Because I don't feel that way. It's just emotionally draining at times, and I occasionally like to vent.
